Anne O'Byrne '156 steps'

Update: Please note that the Ciúnas Dance Performance will start at the Bank of Ireland Theatre at 2pm on Sunday, March 6, and will make its way up along the river to the Engineering Building, where the festival will be opened.

An tUachtarán / President Dr. James Browne:

"Tugann an 16ú Féile Múscailt cuireadh do gach mac léinn, comhalta foirne, alumni agus don phobal sult a bhaint as na hamharcealaíona, cainteanna, ceol, seónna, taibhithe agus amhránaíocht ar an gcampas. I measc na mbuaicphointí beidh an taispeántas '156 steps’ le Anne O'Byrne - atá mar thoradh ar a cónaitheacht i gColáiste na hInnealtóireachta agus na hIonformaitice, gig am lóin le Sharon Murphy, an gramafón ollmhór atá cruthaithe ag Donnacha Cahill, Susan Stenger agus an tAonach Siamsaíochta Victeoiriach. Is í an Oifig Ealaíon in OÉ Gaillimh a eagraíonn Múscailt."

"The 16th Múscailt Festival invites all students, staff, alumni and the public to enjoy visual art, talks, music, spectacle and performance on campus. Highlights include Anne O'Byrne's exhibition '156 steps', which is the result of her residency at Engineering; Sharon Murphy's lunchtime gig; Susan Stenger; and the Victorian Fun Fair. Múscailt is organised by NUI Galway’s Arts Office. "

Oifigeach Ealaíona / Arts Officer Fionnuala Gallagher:

"‘Is é 'Seas an Fód / Stand Your Ground' téama na bliana seo. Uaireanta déanaimid dearmad sult a bhaint as an saol. Féach timpeall ort. I measc na n-imeachtaí beidh ceol, damhsa, ainmhithe, dealbhóireacht, grianghrafadóireacht agus ealaín. Tá formhór an chláir go hiomlán nua. Tá sé ar fad saor in aisce. Is iomaí ábhar iontais a bheidh sa chlár neamhsceidealaithe '+outthegap' a chuirfear ar siúl gan rabhadh i rith na féile."

"Our theme for Múscailt is ‘Seas an Fód / Stand Your Ground’. Sometimes we forget to have a good time. Look around. Events include music, dance, creatures, sculptures, performance, photography and artwork. Most of it is brand spanking new. All free of charge. Our Pop-Up Programme '+outthegap' is also full of surprises. The Gramophone may lure you to a life of passion, whatever your poison. New individual / group pop-up events welcome. Bígí linn."
